Who is this course for?This course is for junior and senior organization leaders who are responsible for strategy development, fund development, marketing, and programming who want to gain clarity on organizational purpose and align your team to deepen mission impact.
What will I learn in this course?You'll learn:
- How to overcome barriers and confusion in your identity and true purpose as an organization especially in these newly difficult times.
- The best group facilitation techniques that lead to a better understanding and decision making processes for your organization
- The basics for evaluating and reporting your team's success in an equitable way that potential donors and funders will support
Are there any pre-reqs?You should have some prior knowledge of your organization's mission and vision, the main programs or services that you provide, your annual budget and spending, and who are your best supporters (volunteers, donors, fellow orgs). There are activities that will explore and clarify all of this information and relationships to maximize your success.
How long does this course take?This course was designed for you to go through at your own pace. If you wanted to do all the content linearly from start to finish, there are five big milestones in the course and final retreat that could be done over the course of one to three months. All lessons are not available at once, but rather released in time for you to complete the homework needed to move to the next step.
Is there a specific start date?This course starts quarterly to give you access to a cohort of individuals that will be at the same stage you are in the process, as well as access to Q and A and "office hours" with your strategy consultant.
How many lessons are there?This course includes 10 lessons, complete with workbook, videos, links to resources, and other materials.
Can I take this course with a team?Yes, absolutely! We recommend the following people join you on this journey: Executive director, board leadership, programming coordinator, treasurer/accountant, human resources director, and volunteer leader. you may also invite others to join you through this course as your organization decides.
